Starting in the Fall of 2012, the Center is launching a new year-long series we're calling Ethics and the Professions. This series consists of two events per quarter and each event will be a conversation between Scotty McLennan (Stanford Dean for Religious Life) and a faculty member and/or practitioner from a particular profession. McLennan is also a lawyer by training and he has often taught a similarly named course at Stanford's Graduate School of Business.

Stanford students (both undergraduate and graduate) will leave Stanford and embark on careers in a variety of fields. It is our hope that this series of in-depth conversations will allow us to bring out the ethical issues unique to each profession so students (and the larger Stanford community) can engage with the issues in ways that often aren't addressed in the classroom.
