Adam is a Ph.D. student in the Philosophy Department. Prior to coming to Stanford, he received a B.A. in mathematics at Carleton College and an M.A. in philosophy at Western Michigan University. His research mainly falls into the intersection of philosophy of science and ethics, with occasional forays into epistemology. In particular, he is trying to figure out what the relationship is between scientific explanation and ethical justification, in the hope that philosophical thinking about the former can inform our thinking about the latter.
