Claire is a Ph.D. candidate in English with a focus on 20th and 21st century American literature and comparative ethnic literary studies. Her dissertation uses aesthetic and literary objects to examine sites of postindustrial solidarity from the mid-1960s to the present. With Juliana Spahr and Stephanie Young, she is co-writing a study on the racial politics of literary prizes beginning in 1919.
