Kimya is a Ph.D. student in the Sociology Department at Stanford. Kimya holds a B.A. from Spelman College with honors, where her research examined the post-Arab Spring collective action of Black Tunisians and the impact of their anti-racism campaigns on the country’s nation-building efforts. She is currently interested in understanding the relationship between grassroots collective action movements across the African Diaspora and trends in conceptions of national identity and nationalism.
