Nicholas Lyon is a Ph.D. student in political science at Stanford. He holds B.A. degrees in political science and economics from Columbia University and an M.Sc. in African Development from the London School of Economics. Prior to coming to Stanford, Lyon worked as an associate at IDinsight in Nairobi, Kenya. Lyon’s current research focuses on social change, citizen-state relations, and the management of diversity in sub-Saharan Africa with a particular emphasis on the social inclusion of vulnerable populations. He has conducted work in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda and Zambia.
