Since June 2007, Frank Rijsberman, a leader in the international water sector, has worked at Google.org as Program Director of water and climate adaptation issues. Prior to joining Google, Rijsberman was Director General (CEO) of the International Water Management Institute (IWMI). IWMI is the leading international research organization on water, food and environment, headquartered in Sri Lanka. Under his leadership, IWMI grew to a $23M organization with offices throughout Asia and Africa. At IWMI, Rijsberman developed and spearheaded several major international initiatives to address the world water crisis, including the world's largest research program to increase productivity of water in agriculture. The Ethics of Food & the Environment is a series of public talks, seminars, and films that explores the ethical issues surrounding food production in the U.S. and around the globe.
