Austin Clements

Austin Clements is a PhD Candidate in History at Stanford University. He is a Gerald J. Lieberman Fellow (Office of the Vice Provost for Student Education) and a Graduate Student Fellow at the McCoy Family Center for Ethics in Society. His research is on the relationship between religion and political and social thought in the history of the United States, with a particular focus on the implications of religious belief in secular society. Before coming to Stanford, he worked in the trades in Phoenix, Arizona, where he manufactured and installed Formica counter tops. He holds a BA in History with a Minor in Religious Studies from Arizona State University (summa cum laude).
