Caroline Yee is a Research Associate with the Technology Ethics & Policy Rising Scholars Program at the Institute for Human-Centered AI (HAI), where she will be working with Dr. Jennifer King and Dr. Elena Cryst. Prior to Stanford, she was a Researcher with UC Berkeley’s Executive Fellowship in Applied Technology Policy, where she collaborated with Jenny Toomey to examine the tech industry’s impact on artistic labor and cultural work. Caroline holds a B.A. in both Data Science and Economics from UC Berkeley, where she completed her senior thesis on how climate-related disasters affect educational equity in California. Her research interests include global disparities in AI development, privacy governance, and the economic impacts of emerging technologies on labor and education. She is committed to advancing technology policy that centers equity, accountability, and long-term societal resilience. In her free time, she enjoys reading, running, painting, and pickleball.
