Charlotte Cao Headshot
Placement: The New York Times

Charlotte Cao is a junior from Irvine, California who is majoring in International Relations as well as minoring in English and Symbolic Systems.

As a student journalist with over 9 years of experience, she is especially interested in how generative AI is affecting the way political misinformation is created, circulated, and consumed. Ultimately, she believes that the development of ethical and justice-oriented AI policies is essential for building a common sense of trust among the people. It is for this reason that she is so eager and honored to be joining the Tech Ethics and Policy Fellowship and working alongside the New York Times.

On campus, Charlotte is involved with the Stanford Daily, the Asian American Student Association, and Stanford Consulting. When she’s not in class, she loves writing poetry, exploring art museums, and attending live music concerts!
