Conor Chapman

Conor Chapman is a Research Associate with the Technology Ethics & Policy Rising Scholars Program. Based in the Cyber Policy Center, his research focuses on AI governance and the impacts of emerging technologies on democracy and international security. Prior to Stanford, Conor worked for the AI Governance Project and helped launch the Wadhwani Center for AI and Advanced Technologies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, D.C. His previous work analyzed global AI regulation and military use of AI. Conor received his MPhil in the History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Cambridge, where he focused on ethics and epistemology in modern science and emerging technologies. He holds a BA from Pitzer College in Philosophy and Science, Technology and Society.
