Derin Kutlay
Physics
Derin (she/her) is a Physics major and Classics minor from Ankara, Turkey. Her interest in policy began with a research project on Estonia's fantastic success in the post-Soviet transition to a knowledge-based economy. She spent a summer in the largest science park in the Baltics, learning about startup acceleration, from the country with the most unicorns per capita. Derin is a lover of constant flux, previously working with 500+ early modern plague books, in Department of Energy labs and on teaching high school Physics. Now she wants to bring her education in the sciences and interest in philosophy together and apply them to the ethical and effective governing of emerging technologies.
