Jenny Ballutay Headshot
Placement: California Department of Technology

Jenny is a sophomore from the Central Valley majoring in Economics and minoring in TAPS (Theater and Performance Studies).

Her excitement for tech policy stems from her research experience in policy work, her interest in media studies, and her passion for social good; she believes economics is not only a tool for studying monetary transactions but can also guide our handling of emergent technologies. She analyzes AI governance as a research assistant at the Stanford Social Media Lab, where she examines perspectives on the future of AI tools in healthcare and compares frameworks for LLM risk assessment.

In her free time, she builds set pieces for the Stanford Shakespeare Company and writes satire and crossword puzzles for the Stanford Daily.
