Katie Yoon

Katie (she/her) is pursuing a Master's in Sustainability Science and Practice and a Bachelor's in Symbolic Systems with a focus on Human-Centered AI at Stanford University. Born in sunny Los Angeles and shaped by the dynamic culture of Seoul, Katie is deeply passionate about integrating technology, humanity, and sustainability across cultures and borders. Her interests in equitable technology range from leveraging technological innovation to uplift underserved communities and integrating AI ethics in organizational settings through the lens of cognition and interactive design. As a researcher at the Stanford Center for Innovation and Design Research, Katie explores how ethics-driven design thinking and co-design models can drive sustainable solutions. When not taking exceedingly long walks, Katie can also be found creating fusion dishes with friends or striving to master the art of pilates.
