Louie Ortiz
Louie Ortiz is a Research Associate with the Technology Ethics & Policy Rising Scholars Program. He holds a B.A. in Data Science from the University of California, Berkeley. His research background explores how data-driven practices inform education policy and pedagogy. In his previous role as a Curriculum Developer for Berkeley’s Human Contexts and Ethics program, he designed instructional material that highlights the interconnectedness of social issues and technology. He also analyzed demographic trends of students enrolled in the Jacob’s Institute for Design Innovation as a Research Assistant for Expanding Diversity and Gender Equity in Tech. Louie is currently a TEP Rising Scholar working with the Embedded Ethics team, deepening his knowledge of ethical issues and its salience in computer science education.
