Matthew Kim

T. Matthew Kim is a senior from Irvine, California pursuing a B.S. in biology and computer science and an M.S. in computer science at Stanford University. 

He is also completing a notation in science communication and a CISAC Honors in international security studies on medical AI for biosecurity and biodefense. His work focuses on technical AI governance and trustworthy AI, particularly in healthcare and national security contexts. Drawing on experience from medical AI research, endourologic clinical studies, building ex-vivo perfusion systems for organ transplantation, and science and technology policy research at the Hoover Institution, he is interested in how law, ethics, and technical design can jointly shape and advance responsible, impactful innovation. 

In his free time, he enjoys fossil collecting, origami, cubing, golfing, hiking, and traveling.
