Namrata Verghese

Modern Thought and Literature/Law

Namrata Verghese is a second-year Ph.D. student in Modern Thought and Literature. She is also pursuing a joint JD at Stanford Law School. Her research spans queer theory, postcolonial studies, and the intersection of law and the humanities. She earned a B.A. (summa cum laude) in English from Emory University in 2019, where she was a Robert W. Woodruff Scholar, and an M.A. (with Distinction) in Postcolonial Studies from SOAS University of London in 2020. Her work appears in Teen VogueThe Los Angeles Review of BooksCatapult, and elsewhere
