Serena is a student from Malaysia studying data science with a concentration in law and justice. Growing up in both the U.S. and Malaysia, Serena witnessed firsthand the negative effects that polarization can have on both developing and established democracies. This sparked her interest in understanding the psychology of prejudice and how technology interacts with bias. Pursuing this interest, Serena has gained diverse experiences in fields like policymaking, behavioral and computational science research, and journalism. Serena thrives in collaborative environments creating user-centered products for social change. In her free time, she enjoys playing golf and discovering new podcasts.
